Reviews / Meivo - Windows XP: Made easy
» Windows XP says 7/10

A TV/PC combo to brighten any room in the house

The Rock Meivo is a 22-inch LCD widescreen monitor with a PC happily integrated into the rear of the unit. It comes preinstalled with Windows Vista Home Premium, essentially making it a stylish media centre computer.

The unit is a hefty fellow and does have limited tilt and swivel, but will not look out of place in any room of a home. The 22-inch LCD screen, surrounded by a glass bevel, boasts an impressive resolution of 1680 x 1050. The overall screen quality is good, but saying that, it could have been slightly better considering the expectations that go hand-in-hand with the price.

The unit is powered by a Core 2 Duo E4300 with 1GB of RAM, plus the integrated GMA 300 graphic set. This provides enough power for almost all tasks, except the latest games. Plus, there is the option to upgrade the processor and memory for a couple of hundred quid. We like the Meivo, but with quality 22-inch LCD widescreen monitors retailing at around £200 and high-spec PCs with Windows Vista for around £500-600, you may want to look elsewhere.

A good-looking and well-built piece of kit, but only for those with cash to spare.

Overall: 7/10
