You don’t break new ground by thinking conventionally. We started our brand in 1992 with a clear ambition: to bring cutting edge innovation to the portable computing market. As pioneers, not imitators, our fresh thinking has driven many of the major advances in mobile computing.
By investing heavily in research and development, rock is shaping the future of notebook technology. The rock brand has won more awards from industry experts than any other notebook manufacturer, and in tests we consistently come out on top for performance, innovative design, value and inherent build quality.
We’re single minded to the point of obsession. We live and breathe high-performance notebook technology. That’s our passion, and our skill: we don’t make desktop computers, or printers, or cameras. But we believe that the rock notebooks we make are the very best you can buy. ‘Fit for purpose’ isn’t enough. We’re not happy unless our products exceed expectations and outperform all competitors.
We’ve maintained the highest standards in notebook services for more than fourteen years, and we continue to lead the field. Our unique insured three-year collect and return warranty and life-long telephone support comes at no extra cost with every rock notebook. And we listen. Our customers’ comments and ideas are a valuable contribution to our own innovation process.
Every rock notebook we sell is hand-built to order in the UK by one of our dedicated technicians from start to finish, so quality control is not just part of our process; it is our process. Do you want the cheapest or the best? A rock notebook offers ultimate performance at great value.
You can’t innovate in a vacuum. That’s why our philosophy extends beyond the design and manufacture of rock notebooks – it encompasses an equal commitment to customer care. We are the only manufacturer to offer a 3 year parts and labour warranty across our range, in the unlikely event that your notebook fails, we will collect it, repair and return it to you all at our cost. What’s more, the warranty is insurance backed meaning that should the worst happen to us, you can rest assured that you will still get the warranty service you should expect.

Recycling (WEEE Regulations)
rockdirect.com, a division of Stone Group Ltd, are aware of their obligations as a distributor under the WEEE Regulations 2006 and subsequent amendments. As an ISO 14001:2004 registered company we are committed to complying with applicable environmental legislation and committed to the prevention of pollution. We are registered as a producer of electrical and electronic equipment with Valpak’s WEEE compliance scheme. In 2008 Stone Group was awarded an Environmental Permit to operate an Authorised Treatment Facility and we also have the necessary Waste Carrier and Brokers Licence to collect and transport waste to our waste management facility.
The crossed out wheelie bin symbol fixed to electrical and electronic equipment signifies that this equipment should not be disposed of with normal household waste but should be separately collected and sent to an appropriate treatment facility. European law sets targets on the collection and treatment of WEEE. There are hazards to human health and the environment in some of the chemicals present in such equipment and so it is important that as much WEEE is collected for treatment as possible.
We encourage all of our customers to recycle their end of life IT equipment through our facility to minimise the impact on the environment. Customers can arrange a recycling collection through our website here. Minimum collections quantities apply when requesting collections, however, smaller quantities can be collected when grouped together. For retail customers seeking to have their equipment recycled please package your equipment appropriately for transit, and contact our service desk on 0844 880 1680 to arrange a free collection.
