Bluetooth under Windows XP Service Pack 2

Some users have found that upgrading to Service Pack 2 resulted in their integrated Bluetooth wireless function no longer working. This is because of a driver software conflict. Please follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

Step 1: Left Click on Start
Step 2: Right click on My Computer
Step 3: Left click on properties from the extended menu, a new window should now appear on the screen
Step 4: Left click on Hardware tab at the top of the window
Step 5: Left Click on the Device Manager Button

The list that appears will display all devices that are recognised within the Windows operating system that require drivers.

Step 6: Left Click on Bluetooth to expand
Step 7:Double click on the Bluetooth device then the Microsoft Bluetooth enumerator
Step 7: Click on the Drivers tab on the new window
Step 8: Left click on Update Driver on the Generic Bluetooth device
Step 9: Ensure that on the first window the option "No not at this time" is selected and click next
Step10: On the next screen select install from a list or a specific location
Step 11: On the next window select "don't search I will choose the driver to install"
Step 12: On the next window select "have disc" and ensure the driver CD for the bluetooth device is in the CD drive. Choose the driver from the disc and click next to install driver.

Alternatively, visit your product page on this site and download the Bluetooth driver, extract it to a folder and ask Windows to look there for the driver.

Once driver has been installed click finish and restart the notebook to put the changes into effect
